Citation Help: Home

A guide to offer resources and information for correctly citing your paper, as well as formatting correctly based on the type of citation style you choose between APA, MLA, and Chicago.

Welcome to the Citation Guide

________________________________

This guide is designed to assist you in citing your sources when writing your paper and completing assignments.

There are different citation styles to format your paper by and cite information. Select one of the tabs above for a specific style.

The three main styles utilized for citation are those listed:

MLA style typically used by the Humanities

APA style typically used by Education, Psychology, and Business

Chicago/Turabian style that is generally used by History and some Fine Arts subjects

Note: It should also be known that Chicago Style uses footnotes and endnotes. These are numerical placements at the end of the portion being cited in the paper, which are then placed at the bottom of the page (footnote), or at the end of the paper on a collected endnotes page. This is done to limit the amount of space used for extra text, and since Chicago Style disciplines such as the Humanities generally cite a lot of references, this system is utilized.

Check with your instructors to make sure you are using the correct style aligned with your course.
